Mount Stars and Mounts

A Mount Star turns one pet into a mount for good. Get one free in a Star Drop at night, or buy one from Stellaris at Spawn. Riding adds no speed or money.

Get a Mount Star

A Mount Star is also called a Shooting Star. They are the same thing.

Stellaris also sells packs of 1 and 3. Guides do not list those prices yet, so check the shop.
Prices can change. The shop screen is always right.

Star Drop

A Star Drop can start on any in-game night, but it is rare. One day and night takes about 5 minutes.
You must be in the server from the start of that in-game day. Joining late does not count, so server hopping does not work.
Each server rolls on its own.
Every player who counts gets their own star. Nobody can take yours.
The star lands somewhere on the map. Find it and bring it home.

Ride a Pet

1Go home and hold the Mount Star in your item bar.
2Walk up to a pet in your pen and press Feed Star.
3Press Yes on the Apply Star screen. You cannot undo this.
4Open the equipped pets panel on the right and press the green Ride button.

Mount Rules

1 Mount Star makes 1 mount. The star is used up.
Any pet can be a mount. Rarity does not change how fast it goes.
A mount is still a pet. It keeps making money in your pen.
Riding adds no Speed, no carry weight, and no help against Guardians.
Players report the pet must be equipped in your pen before you can ride it.
Race mounts are apart from this. The Nitro Race needs no Mount Star.
No guide has tested what fusing or selling a mount does. Pick a pet you plan to keep.
